Beaches in Terengganu are oriented towards the east-north east. Here, in Batu Rakit, a shadow from the higher part of the beach casts a violet hue over the sand. Night is already covering the sea, but a last orange ray from the setting sun lingers in the air, on the edge of the water and on the last catch of the fisherman. The eerie light is called a mambang (hovering spirit).
